For the non-geeks:
I grew up on a 40 acre farm in Southern Indiana. I was the first in my family to go to college and earned a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Purdue University and a Master's degree in Physics from Kent State University. I have worked at/in/for various places: chicken houses, survey crews, hay wagons, NASA (Florida and Houston), Apple, Ameritech/SBC/AT&T.
In 1999, I help found Wilke Systems International, Inc. Our objective was to educate clients so that they made sound, well-informed decisions. We continue this goal to this day.

For the geeks:
MS and BS in Physics. Played and researched: IR communications, laser satellite tracking and communications, early (.5db per km loss) fiber optic cable, interior Shuttle communications, satellite acquisition and capture using Doppler-shift laser velocity controls. Started up the deregulated telecom company Ameritech Advanced Data Services (AADS) during the 1990's to show the telephone company how things really worked. Devised structured cabling before AT&T and others figured it out while a Apple. Saw the advantages of 10Base-T Ethernet (and ran with it!) when everyone else still wanted RG58 coax. Have done more "screw driver" work on: SL1 PBXes, Cisco routers, Macs, PCs, demarcs, 110 & 66 punch tools, butt sets, Novell servers, voicemail systems and IBM System 36/38/400s than most people care to remember. Used punch cards before dumb terminals. Strung fiber optic cable under Johnson Space Center.

For fun:
Founded ( & won!) the inaugural 1997 NAHA baseball championship with the Sox - an over-30 baseball league.
Have a black belt (shodan) in Aikido
